Nehemiah loves his toy Yoshi. Yoshi cuddles with him to sleep at night. Yoshi can be found grocery shopping, and on occasion Yoshi even goes to church with us. :)
If you have been reading my blog for any great length of time (bless you) you might remember last year at this time Nehemiah decided it was Yoshi's birthday. Even though I didn't blog about it until May last year, we actually celebrated shortly after Easter. Nehemiah somehow remembered his toy dinosaurs birthday and was not going to let Yoshi's special day pass without a celebration. :)
So... we celebrated.
Nehemiah helped me make Yoshi's cake. He pulled up a chair to watch the cake bake too.
Nehemiah and I went to the store and picked out a few presents that Yoshi might enjoy.
While we were at the store the other kids made Yoshi a birthday crown...
and a birthday banner for the mantel.
We told Yoshi he couldn't open his presents until the cake was done. He could hardly stand the wait!
Nehemiah had to help open the presents because "Yoshi's arms don't work"
Yoshi thanked us for his presents and let out a little squeal of happiness (or maybe that was Nehemiah).
Nehemiah posing with the birthday dinosaur. (the gifts were m&m's, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk)
Time for cake!
It was a great birthday. Nehemiah said Yoshi had a great day... and just like last year he told me that next week is Donkey Kong's birthday! Ha!
