2 things. I'll start off with the annoying so that I can end on a happy note. :)
Craigslist. It is making me crazy. I've posted a number of things on CL in the past. Lately though, the spammers are out in full force. In one day I received 5 spam. All to the same listing. "Do you need a job" "Do you need money" Argh! No, I just want to sell what I have listed thankyouverymuch. Blah! CL is so not the same thing down here as it is up in PA. I searched our old towns CL postings under "baby&kids" and found some GREAT deals. Many like new items for under $30, most closer to $20. Here? Knock $10 off of the retail price and you have EVERY CL post out there. The one consignment shop that I have found so far isn't any better. I found a crib there for $250. I saw it the next day online for $10 more.
Hopefully I can hit the jackpot at a yardale sometime soon. Baby girl has some clothes and blankets but that is it.
sigh
moving on
I am really excited about this one. I have been researching jaundice. There isn't any kind of preventative treatment. There are 3 types of jaundice. All of mine have had ABO incompatibility. Basically that means that I have type O blood (I'm O+) and they do not. That causes them to have jaundice. ABO leads to higher bilirubin levels than in the "normal" jaundice that many newborns have. So placing a baby in the sun won't help. They need more than that.
So armed with that information I have been searching for what to do next. Nehemiah stayed in the hospital for an additonal 2 days (or was it 1?) and Hannah stayed in the hospital for I think an additional 5 days. I did NOT want to go through that again. Talk about an emotional roller coaster! So, at the wee hours of the morning this morning I found a phototherapy light that is more effective than the double lights used at many hospitals. I was so excited! I called the hospital this morning to find out what they use to treat jaundice and guess what! This is the product that they use! The baby would still get to room in with me, just with the phototherapy bed. Then when it is time to go home the baby and the bed would go home with me. From there it is the same kind of stuff that we did with the others. Daily trips to the Dr to have bloodwork drawn until the bililevel is at a safe/normal number.
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about this. It is an answer to prayer. The sweet nurse that I talked to from the hospital was just the most helpful person I have talked to regarding my pregnancy so far. I have some paperwork n' stuff to do in order to transfer from my current evil Dr to the new place. After that we will be able to take a tour of the hospital. I can't wait! Thank you Lord!
