Teenager in the house

It happened.  I have a teenager.  

I used to think this would  be the end of the world :)  but as it turns out teenagers are kinda cool.  

Real conversations happen now.  Not that my 10, 9, 6 or even 3 year old can't hold a conversation, but at 13 the conversations are deeper.  And it's good.

Joseph woke up SO excited for his special day.  He is normally an early riser (certainly doesn't get that from me!) but woke up at 5am (as opposed to 7) in anticipation of what the day held for him.  Roger had off work which meant that Joseph could open presents in the morning instead of after dinner.  Huge bonus.

 In honor of his 13th birthday he got tools from us.  He loves to take things apart.

 Not pictured is the money he received from the other set of Grandparents.  He is excited about that because he just sold some things on Craigslist and now has a nice sum of $ for a 13 year old.

Roger and Joseph went out to lunch and walked around Best Buy.  We played some games and ate birthday whoopie pies.  :)  It was a fun day.  Joseph says that he feels different. :)  13 is going to be a great year.
