I think this has been the best Easter week we've ever had as a family. Every evening we talked and read about what Jesus did that day - the last week before his death. On Thursday the girls and I made unleavened bread.
I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like when finished. Picture really wonky looking crackers. :) It was good though! Roger said I should make it again and he would use it to make a sandwich. (He can't have the yeast in regular bread)
Thursday evening then we had communion as a family. That was the first time we had communion as a family, and it was such a blessing. Roger and I used to take communion together every once in a while... but it's been years since we've done that. I think we're going to mark it on the calendar to do every so often. It was truly an awesome experience.
During the week we also dyed eggs. I bought a dye from the store this year. I normally just use regular liquid dye. The kids decided they like our normal way of doing things a lot better.
Those little rollers just didn't work for coloring eggs. We wound up switching to q-tips, but it was still kind of a pain. It's alright. We had fun, but the vote was for the good ol' fashion mug filled with vinegar and liquid coloring for next year.
A week or so ago we bought some new (to us) furniture off of Craigslist. The couple we bought it from invited us to go on an Easter egg hunt at their church. A few days later we got an invitation in the mail for the same church. Turns out our neighbor goes to the same church. :) So we went on an Easter egg hunt.
The kids were divided into groups according to their age. Joseph's age group did a sack race.
Nehemiah and Hannah's group did a spoon/egg race.
It is HARD to get a good picture of Nehemiah! He gets so awkward as soon as he sees the camera. Love him to pieces anyway. :)
Do you see how full their bags are?! We gathered over 100 eggs. That's A LOT of candy.
After church on Sunday we had an Easter egg hunt at home. We hid 36 eggs per child. That is not a typo. We are crazy.
We also had a family Easter basket.
:)
Keturah has a little book, some pacifiers, and a teething toy in it.
The older kids has Christ centered "stuff" There was some candy in it too, but most of it was not.
It was a great Christ centered week.
We are blessed.
