Cake

This has been a crazy week for cake.  I haven't made any for awhile, and this week I made 3!  It doens't look like things will be slowing down for August either.  Roger's birthday, followed by a baby shower and some out of town guests. (Hi Jewel! What kind of cake do you want?) :)  It's equally fun and exhausting.  Having 4 kids under foot while trying to stack a 3 tiered cake is, um, challenging.  I'm not complaing though.  If we want to turn this into a business some day I need all of the practice I can get.

Hawaiin Luau Cake

We had a Hawaiin day at church this past Sunday, complete with a potluck lunch and nasty pig on a platter.  Yeah, um, I ate cake.  But apparently some people are not turned off by lunch that stares at you and hooves on your plate... *shrug* so...

Our Anniversary cake

This one was put together so quick, it's not as nice as I would have liked.  It's supposed to resemble the pocket watch I gave to Roger on our wedding day.  Around the sides of the cake it says "Yours till the end of time" (which is also what the pocket watch says) (yes, I am aware of the cheese factor) :)

This one is for a friends daughters 2nd Birthday.  It's Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. I made my kids watch Sesame Street this week so I could see who this Abby Cadabby character is.  :)  I don't think I had any complaints from the kids on that one.  They were happy that I was turning the tv on.  After banning it a few months ago it hasn't been getting much attention.  (Yay!)  In order to actually finish 3 cakes this week though the tv was on more than I care to admit (boo!)  So... the tv ban will start again. 

But we have cake to eat, so it's not all a loss. :)
