New Years Eve

Before Valentine's arrives I better blog about our New Years Eve!  :)

We had a pretty relaxed day and planned it so that there would be no staying up until midnight.  We told the kids we would play some games, have some special treats, and be in bed by 10:00.  Party Hardy.

We played a few Minute To Win It style games.  It was a lot of fun and we laughed so hard.

This game requires a deck of cards and an empty cup.  You take the deck, pulling out the joker, and turn it face up on the bottom of the pile.  The pile then goes on top of the cup and you have to blow - carefully - so you blow off all of the cards but leave the joker on the cup.  We were all able to get this on our first try...except for Roger.  :)

The pictures might not look exciting here, but this game was fun.  One of those cups is a different color.  It started out on the top of the stack and in one minute you had to quickly work your way through the stack to make that one colored cup cycle its way back to the top again.  This one was challenging for the kids and they had to do it a few times before they could do it under a minute.
This was the loudest game!   They had to toss a ping pong ball into each cup.  We only had enough balls for each cup so if one went flying off the table we had to retrieve it - and FAST! :)

And this is how we ended the evening.  They voted to make this our NYE tradition.  They have one minute to see who can eat the most donut... while it is suspended from a string. No hands allowed.  I have no idea who won.  We were too busy laughing.

It was a fun New Years Eve.  The kids ate their donuts, brushed their teeth and went to bed.  :)  Roger and I watched a documentary on Netflix and waited for the clock to strike midnight so we could go to sleep.

2015.  Here we come.
