Visitors!

I found this post in my drafts folder.  I have no idea why it didn't get published!  So... a few weeks late, here it is. :)

Last week we had company.  I love having company.  Living so far away from our family and many of our friends makes me really treasure the time we get to spend together.

Roger's mom and brother came down for a few days.  The kids could barely handle the excitement.  They called every few hours to find out where they were in the long 24 hour drive, following their route on a map. (Hey, that totally counts towards school) :)

Finally they arrived and my kids were ear to ear smiles.  Adaiah warmed up to them quickly and we enjoyed a few days together.
As opposed to my Mother in-laws visit back in November, there were no Tornado's this time.  Thank God for that!  I don't think she would have ever visited us again if she experienced another round of that.

The boys didn't waste any time and started right away playing video games with Uncle Jon.

Us gals enjoyed a trip to Hobby Lobby. :) (no pictures, too busy shopping)

We came home with patterns and fabric and made this!

Hannah keeps asking "Doesn't this look like a store bought dress?" :)  Yes dear, it does if you squint.

Because it is allergy season in East TX we weren't able to spend much time outside.  We went to the park one day but the boys didn't handle it well.  Poor kids.  Even with allergy medicine they were getting nose bleeds 2 to 3 times a day.  One night they both woke up so swollen they could hardly breathe.  That was a little scary.  So, we stayed in.  Grandma bought balloons and the kids played and twisted and created balloon masterpieces until the noise of squeaking balloons was more than my nerves could handle.  :)

Their time here just flew by and before we knew it, it was time to say good-bye. The excited kids I had just days earlier were a puddle of tears.  It wasn't fun to call and see where they were in their drive because they were far away.  Hannah says "I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really miss Uncle Jon and Grandma"  And actually, I think I spared you a couple of "really"s.

Yeah, she enjoyed their visit.

So now we go back to normal... school work, house work, the last of the remodeling stuff (which is taking forever!  But that is another post) and dream about when we will be able to see everyone again.  I can't believe we have lived here for 2 years now.  I can't believe we haven't been back to PA since we left in 2009.  We are dreaming.  How great it would be to see everyone again!

Thanks for visiting Jon & Alta!  Come again soon! :)
