Projecting. It's a love hate relationship. I love the finished results but I don't always love the work to get there. Especially when the work NEVER ENDS. We have been living in this house for nearly 10 months. That means that for nearly 10 months we have been working on some project for this house. I. Am. Tired. You would think that 10 months down the road everything would be done. It is after all a small house....a small house that needs a lot of work. We thought we were down to little "want to" projects. Things that we wanted to do for us, things to make the house feel like home. (As opposed to the MUST DO projects like repairing the floor, installing other floor, putting in sinks...) Then we discovered mold on the outside wall of our bedroom closet. Mold in a house is bad. Mold in our house is worse. It's Rogers worst allergy. (like off the charts Wow the Dr allergic) So that needs to be tackled ASAP. Washing the wall with bleach will remove the surface mold but the cause of it won't be taken care of. So... we will be cutting a hole in the wall to see if we can spy the source. Hopefully it won't turn into a complete gutting of our closet.
Speaking of complete gutting.... Roger was brave and removed the black bag that was covering the house out back where the bathroom window used to be.
You can see it in this picture. There used to be a window in the shower. The renters removed the window and put up glass block. (improperly I might add) Then they bagged up the hole where the window used to be. Well, bag removed and what we have is the shower. It's hollow. No insulation. No board of any sort to protect the house from the elements. Just a little black bag. For 3 years. So with the bag down it reveals the drywall for the shower. Yes, drywall. Now, we could just insulate and close everything up but that just doesn't seem right. It's like I would be inviting mold to come live in my home. (If it's not there already. I would suspect that it is.) Besides the fact that the inside of the shower isn't in good shape. I actually liked the look of the "remodel" (I use that term oh so loosely as a bathroom remodel can only truly live up to that name if the bathroom does indeed include a sink) but it was poorly done. The grout is cracking at all corners and the entire base of the tub. (Due to the tile floor) (wanna know something else? This guys job was tiling) (I kid not) The tub itself is original to the house (50+years) and could be replaced as well. So... um... ugh.
All I wanted to do was hang some pictures. Paint some murals. Pretty things up.
I am not a fan of projecting right now. not. a. fan.

:( HUGS! You are doing a FABULOUS job though. I know it's hard to see when there is so much left on your "to-do" list- but you guys have accomplished tons and tons. Love you lots!
