Baptism

This is a picture heavy post... and some of them may not be all that interesting. I decided to include every picture I took that morning because I want to remember every little thing about it. :)

A few Sundays ago, Joseph and Hannah were baptized! They were both about 3 or 4 when they asked Jesus into their heart. As a matter of fact, all of the older 4 have asked Jesus into their hearts. God is good! :)

The Children's Pastor at our church is amazing. He is, without a shadow of a doubt, called to be a children's pastor! Our church holds baptism Sunday's every so often, and he (Pastor Chris) started talking about it to the kids. Joseph and Hannah really jumped at the idea (he had talked about it in the past, but something about this time really got their attention) and they asked if we could sign them up. I was a little concerned about Hannah being so young (she's 6).  Pastor Chris was baptized when he was 6. For some reason that made me feel better. :) So... we signed em up!

The morning of the baptism there was a little breakfast for the families of those being baptized.  They also handed out a new Bible to everyone who was being baptized.  That was kinda funny actually... we had just bought the older 3 new Bible's for Easter.  :)
I have no idea who that tiger guy is in the picture.  He's some character that they use in childrens church.  I totally forget his name.  The other man is Pastor Chris.
This is the choir room, where we met to have our breakfast.
Hannah, backstage, robed up, and ready to go.
Joseph, first in line and ready to dip his toes in the water. :)
The young lady on the left is a friend of Joseph's.
kids everywhere!
I was so nervous for them!  When I was baptized it was in a pool at YWAM. I was surrounded by my fellow YWAMers.  Here, the kids were on stage in front of hundreds of people they don't know!  Eek! :)
Didn't phase them one bit though...  especially Joseph.  He's an attention hog. ;) (so much so that he faced the congregation instead of facing to the side like he was supposed to.  Oops.  There was just so much to see from way up there!)
Our baptismal is raised above the stage. (Is this normal?  Our church in PA had one built into the floor of the main stage.  It just covered over when not in use.)  The kids walked down the few steps to their Pastor and then stepped up on a cinder block so the congregation could see them. :)
"Joseph, have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?" yes "Then it is with great joy that I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

Hannah was so tiny in there!  She REALLY needed that cinder block to step up on!

Again, "Hannah have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?" yes "It is with great joy that I baptize you today in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

My heart beamed with pride.  I love my kids.  I love that my kids are making the choice to live their life for God.  Even though they are young, they aren't too young to make good choices.

And in case you are wondering why Nehemiah didn't get baptized...  we believe it is a personal choice.  We did ask Nehemiah if he wanted to.  He asked a few questions about it, but when we described what would happen (going under water), he decided he would pass.  :)  The boy has my fear of water.
Adaiah on the other hand has being play "bab-ih-uh-tized" ever since.  She just can't wait until she can do it too!

Romans 6:4
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
